FORECAST

Good morning! Rain is a sure thing in San Antonio today. Drizzle has already been reported in areas of SA, but the steady rainfall holds off until early afternoon. In the meantime, it’ll be cloudy and cold. Here’s what to expect:

HILL COUNTRY MIX (MINOR IMPACTS):

While temperatures are right at freezing in these areas, any precipitation could drag down temperatures to freezing. At that point, some light ice accumulation is possible (up to a .10″). We expect only minor impacts, with some of the less-traveled bridges and overpasses seeing some slick spots. Elevated and metals surfaces could see some light accumulations, too. Early Friday morning, some light icing or a few snowflakes may also occur. Again, we expect any impacts to be minor.

Ice impacts will be limited to minor in the Hill Country. (Copyright 2025 by KSAT - All rights reserved.)

STEADY, COLD RAIN THIS AFTERNOON IN SA

The storm has inched closer, and has allowed a layer of drizzle to fill in across the area, with a more steady rain setting up by lunchtime in San Antonio. The rain will also drag temperatures down in the city, but not below freezing. We’ll likely sit in the mid-30s, leaving us with a cold rain. Expect rainy conditions to last through approximately midnight, before we begin to dry out going into Friday morning. All said and done, San Antonio could see up to an inch of rainfall, which we will certainly take!

TRAVEL IMPACTS FOR NORTH TEXAS

Please know if you plan to travel north to Dallas or west to West Texas, there will be travel impacts. Wintry weather has already started to become more of an issue for the Metroplex, and will start for areas north of Waco. Accumulations are likely there through Friday morning.

FRIDAY CLEARING

Any precipitation will end by sunrise Friday. Gusty winds will follow up behind our storm system, making it fairly blustery on Friday morning. Skies will gradually clear west to east and some sunshine is possible late in the day. That’ll allow temperatures to rebound into the 40s.

ANOTHER FREEZE SATURDAY MORNING

Clear skies and 20s are on tap for our weekend in San Antonio in the upper-20s. On Saturday morning, areas of Hill country has a possibility of a hard freeze.
