FORECAST
COLD, WET THURSDAY
Don’t expect rain tonight, but the morning commute should entail passing rain showers which will become more persistent by the afternoon and lead to a soggy and cold evening commute. Moderate to heavy showers are likely later in the day, and some communities around San Antonio could easily pick up over an inch of much-needed rain by Friday morning.
Temperatures will only be in the mid to upper 30s throughout the day, so plan for a winter jacket under the umbrella.
GOOD RAINFALL
An inch or so is likely across most of South-Central Texas through sunrise Friday.
WINTRY MIX IN THE HILL COUNTRY
More than anything, this will be a much needed rain event for the Hill Country, but from 4am to 1pm some light icing could occur. However, the impacts should be limited to elevated surfaces such as street signs, tree limbs, decks, parked vehicles, and potentially some bridges and overpasses. Parts of the Hill Country could get around an inch or rain.
Another window that’ll we’re watching is late Thursday night into the pre-dawn hours Friday. During this time, a few snowflakes may mix with the rain, but don’t expect any accumulation.
WARMER WEEKEND
By the weekend, temperatures will rebound to near 60°, with lots of sunshine. We’ll keep you posted!
