SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police and Crime Stoppers are asking for the public’s help to solve a shooting that left a man dead in his SUV.
Larry Alan Wilson, 54, was found in the driver’s seat of his white Ford Expedition around 11 p.m. on April 14 in the 8100 Cross Creek Drive, near Austin Highway on the city’s Northeast Side.
Police said Wilson was shot by a man standing on the passenger side of the victim’s vehicle. Witnesses reported seeing the man running away with a backpack, police said.
Wilson’s family believes he was robbed and then shot multiple times. They are having trouble understanding who would do this.
“He was very outgoing. He liked to joke a lot. He was always there for anybody that needed help, and that’s probably why this happened,” said Johnny Wilson, Larry’s brother. “The main thing is I want to catch who did this. Why would they do this?”
Wilson said his brother was disabled, but he would give the shirt off his back to anyone. He said Tuesday was especially difficult because that’s when the two would meet, go for a ride in his truck and talk about life.
“Even though all that’s happened to him, he would be the first one there to help you to do anything. He always helped me with anything I had going on,” said Wilson.
