FORECAST
Happy weekend! Record-challenging warmth will be the big story Saturday, however a cold front arriving on Sunday will send some changes into South Central Texas for the upcoming week. Here’s the latest:
THIS WEEKEND
It’s already a warm and muggy start! This morning’s cloud cover will start to break up by midday with plenty of afternoon sunshine returning. That will help high temperatures soar into the upper-80s in San Antonio, with perhaps a few locations south and west of the Alamo City hitting the 90 degree mark. Feeling more like late May than early February!
Changes arrive throughout the day Sunday as a slow moving cool front seeps into South Central Texas. We’ll still start off humid and warm (mid-60s around sunrise), but drier air will gradually pump in as the front works through.
Expect a mixed bag of temperatures depending on where you are, with cooler highs located farther north and warmer highs farther south.
COOLER AIR, RAIN CHANCES NEXT WEEK
A few reinforcing pushes of cooler air arrive next week, keeping temperatures at bay with highs in the 50s and 60s.
Cloudy skies take shape by Monday as a stretch of isolated rain chances return to the forecast. Totals will need to be fine-tuned in the days ahead, but accumulations still look relatively light with 0.25″ - 0.50″ the current thinking.
More updates to come! Until then -- have a great weekend.
