Spring-like warmth continues for now, but changes arrive this weekend

In the meantime, expect daily rounds of morning clouds and fog

Warmer than average temperatures continue this week, then changes arrive this weekend.

FORECAST HIGHLIGHTS

  • CLEARING THIS AFTERNOON: Sunshine returns, low-80s
  • MORE SPRING-LIKE WARMTH: Highs run about 10 to 20 degrees above average
  • HUMID, TOO: Daily rounds of morning clouds, fog and mist
  • NEXT FRONT: Arrives on Sunday, bringing a significant cool-down

FORECAST

Yesterday’s warmth turned out to be record-setting. A high of 85° tied the record last set in 1911.

After another round of patchy fog and morning clouds, more sunshine pops out again this afternoon, helping high temperatures reach for the low-to-mid 80s.

Tuesday forecast in San Antonio.

HOW LONG WILL THIS WARMTH LAST?

The short answer: through Saturday. We’ll see a rinse and repeat type scenario, with warm, cloudy (and foggy at times) mornings and mostly sunny afternoons, with high temperatures well-above-average through Saturday afternoon. Humidity stays put.

NEXT COLD FRONT

The models have been consistent on bringing in our next front on Sunday. Potentially, we could be looking at 30° drop in high temperatures from Saturday to Super Bowl Sunday. Highs on Saturday are forecast to reach the mid-80s.

With the front arriving Sunday morning, the day will start off mild and muggy, but likely end up rather cool (mid-50s). Additionally, gusty north winds will make it feel more like February again.

ANY RAIN?

There could be some light rainfall as the front pushes through Sunday, but don’t expect much. We may also see a few more showers on Monday. Currently rain chances both days sit at 20%.

7 day forecast as of 2/4/25.
