Wurstfest fan favorite Alex Meixner is performing in New Braunfels this weekend
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas โ Just because Wurstfest is canceled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, doesnโt mean you canโt still celebrate. One of Wurstfestโs most celebrated entertainers, Alex Meixner, is going to be performing at Krauseโs Biergarten & Cafe in New Braunfels Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. VIP tables will be located under the pavilion and include two German food platters and a meet and greet with Alex Meixner. This will be first come first seated and subject to how many tables are sold,โ said Krauseโs Cafe officials. Krauseโs Cafe is located at 148 S Castell Avenue in New Braunfels.

State Fair of Texas announces drive-thru food event for first time in 134-year history
DALLAS You know that old adage dont mess with Texas? Well, this time it applies to our famous state fair food. For the first time in the 134-year history of the State Fair of Texas - instead of a fair theres going to be a drive-thru food event. The coronavirus pandemic has put a kibosh on tons of events this year, like Fiesta and Wurstfest just to name a few, but in lieu of the annual 24-day exhibition, the State Fair of Texas is hosting a one-of-a-kind drive-thru experience. The drive-thru is expected to take 90 minutes once you enter the gate at Fair Park in Dallas. Fletchers corny dog, a State Fair favorite, will be on the menu at all Golden Chick restaurants through October 25.
Wurstfest cancellation big blow to nonprofit groups
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas โ When New Braunfels Little League President Paul Naizer heard Wurstfest would be canceled for 2020 over concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic, he understood. With more than 200,000 attendees that come through over 10 days, the groups can raise much - even all - of the money they need to operate for the year. โBut not knowing whatโs going on with this pandemic, itโs really hard to see how weโre going to make money. Brit King, president of the Downtown Rotary Club of New Braunfels, said Wurstfest isnโt the biggest of its four fundraisers. The Wurstfest Association has said that fundraising plans to support the nonprofit organizations that normally work Wurstfest would be announced in the coming weeks.

" Nonprofits look for direct community support after Fiesta 2020 cancelation. The Wurstfest Association of New Braunfels has a list of non-profit organizations on its website that benefit from the festival. The popular New Braunfels festival plans to make a return Nov. 5-15, 2021.
