CIBOLO, Texas โ A Cibolo boy reached a major milestone on Saturday as he celebrated his 6th birthday. Mateo Sparkman-Luna has a terminal cancer known as Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, or DIPG. However, Lunaโs family showed him that he isnโt alone in his fight and came together to make his birthday one to remember. In the meantime, Lunaโs family says they will continue to make as many happy memories as they can. AdOne of the organizations that has helped Luna and his family, and even organized the birthday parade, was the Gabriellaโs Smile Foundation.

Popular San Antonio breakfast restaurant to open third location on Friday
SAN ANTONIO โ Fans of breakfast in the Cibolo area will soon have a new spot to enjoy. Magnolia Pancake Haus announced on its Facebook page that a third location is opening on Friday, Dec. 18. The popular breakfast restaurant will bring its delicious pancakes to Cibolo right off I-35 just north of 3009. Magnolia Pancake Haus has been a staple in San Antonio for 20 years with its first location on Embassy Oaks and the second on Huebner Road.
Cibolo businessman charged with wire fraud in online firearm sales scheme, officials say
CIBOLO, Texas โ A federal grand jury has charged a Cibolo businessman with wire fraud in a scheme involving online firearm sales, officials said. William Badberg, 44, who owns Bullit Proof Arms in Schertz, is charged with 12 counts of wire fraud. A federal indictment says Badberg advertised the sale of firearms on the internet, including on a website he controlled, but failed to deliver the weapons to the buyers despite being paid for the items. Homeland Security Investigations agents arrested Badberg on Monday at his home. If convicted, Badberg faces a maximum possible term of 20 years in federal prison for each count of wire fraud.

The raids were conducted at a gun shop on I-35 and FM 3009 and at a home on Penick Way in Cibolo. HSI says the investigation is in connection with wire fraud and firearms. Cibolo police asking public for help in identifying car burglary suspects
CIBOLO, Texas โ Cibolo police are asking for the pubicโs help in identifying three suspects who were caught on video trying to break into vehicles in a subdivision. According to police, the suspects were caught on camera in the early morning hours on Thursday. In the video, one individual in a hooded sweatshirt seems to notice the camera and walks away. Police asking for help identifying Cibolo porch pirate
CIBOLO, Texas โ Police are asking for help identifying a man wanted in connection with a series of package thefts from porches in Cibolo. The alleged porch pirate is wanted by Cibolo Police Department for thefts that occurred on Sept. 29 in the 100 block of Hanging Moss and 200 block of North Willow Way. Police describe the man as โmedium-set with multiple tattoos on arm/chest areaโ and add that he was a passenger in a gold-colored, older-model Honda Odyssey. SCHERTZ, Texas Schertz and Cibolo firefighters are teaming up to combat a massive, active brush fire. The fire broke out around 5 p.m. Thursday in the 500 block of Highway 78, according to fire officials. As of around 5:22 p.m., the fire was still very active with large bouts of smoke and heavy flames in the area. Our fire crews are working a large brush fire in the 500 block of Hwy 78 with the assistance of Cibolo Fire. Police ask for help identifying person who broke into Steele High School
CIBOLO, Texas โ The Cibolo Police Department is looking for a person who broke into Steele High School Thursday for 4 1/2 hours. A Facebook page from CPD says a male broke into the school around 1 a.m. and was seen on campus until 5:30 a.m. The age and identity of the person, who had on a backpack, long-sleeved Under Armour shirt, black shorts and a cold-weather hat, is not currently known. Anyone with information about the identity of the person is asked to call Cibolo Police at 210-659-1999. Steele High School teacher accused of inappropriate contact with student
SAN ANTONIO โ A 43-year-old teacher at Steele High School and Dobie Junior High School was arrested Tuesday on a charge of indecency with a child. Eric Paul Contreras is accused of inappropriate contact with a student, according to Officer Matt Schima, public information officer with the Cibolo Police Department. Steele High School special education teacher accused of inappropriate contact with student arrested, police sayDetails surrounding the case, including if the contact was made on-campus, remain unclear at this time. Contreras is the second teacher at Steele to be accused of inappropriate actions this month. Special education teacher Alfred Villarreal, 63, was arrested March 5 in a case involving inappropriate contact with a student, officials said.
