Spring Branch wastewater plant to deposit 260,000 gallons of treated domestic wastewater daily into Guadalupe River
Spring Branch residents are voicing their concerns Thursday, August 11, over a permit that would allow 260,000 gallons of domestic wastewater to be deposited daily into Cypress Creek and then to Guadalupe River, according to Texas Commission of Environmental Quality documents.
10,000+ rainbow trout to be stocked in 4 San Antonio-area lakes
SAN ANTONIO โ The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department are expected to stock roughly 10,336 rainbow trout in four San Antonio-area lakes as part of the Neighborhood Fishinโ program. Earl Scott Pond, Live Oak City Park, Millerโs Pond and Southside Lions Park (Hi Lions) will be stocked on select days from November through February. An estimated 3,792 rainbow trout will be stocked in Millerโs Pond and 4,744 will be stocked at Southside Lions Park, according to TWPD officials. However, licenses and endorsements are not required when fishing in a Texas state park. The rainbow trout stocked at the lakes will be big enough to catch and eat for anyone who wants to keep their catch.
Toddlerโs body found in Guadalupe River in Kerr County, officials say
KERR COUNTY, Texas โ A search in Kerr County ends tragically after a 20-month-old child drowned in the Guadalupe River in Kerr County, according to the Kerr County Sheriffโs Office. Sheriff Rusty Hierholzer confirmed to KSAT 12 that the childโs body was recovered at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday. The accident happened on the Guadalupe River between Hunt and Ingram. 40-year-old Arlington man dies after swimming in Guadalupe River, officials say
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas โ A 40-year-old man has died after swimming in the Guadalupe River, according to the New Braunfels Police Department. After arriving on scene, the victim, Chad Aaron Maples, of Arlington, was seen struggling in the water upriver before he disappeared underwater, officials said. Bystanders found Maples and pulled him onto a rock in the middle of the river. Police officers went into the water and pulled him to shore before beginning life-saving measures. NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas โ The Memorial Day weekend led to packed rivers in Comal County, which as of Friday had 81 confirmed cases of COVID-19. The number is relatively lower than those in the surrounding Bexar and Hays counties, but as more people head to Comal County to take a dip in the rivers, there is concern the virus could spike in the area. Comal County epidemiologist, Dr. Anil Mangla, is urging river-goers to wear masks as much as possible. So again, in a pool, youโre going to get more than 10. Kerrville police ask for help to identify deceased male found in Guadalupe River
Kerrville, TEXAS โ The Kerrville Police Department is reaching out to the public in hopes of figuring out the identity of a body found in the Guadalupe River on Friday evening. A press release states the body was found adjacent to the 2700 block of Memorial Highway/SH 27 at about 6:40 p.m.A deceased male was found floating in the river and Kerrville Fire Department recovered the body. The man is described as a white or Hispanic male, about 20 to 30 years of age. He is also described as being between five feet six inches and five feet eight inches tall and weighing about 180 to 210 pounds. He was found wearing a sleeveless white undershirt and black athletic shorts with a red border and yellow trim and green plaid boxer shorts.
