The United States Postal Service might have found a way to unite a nation bitterly divided after this month’s election: It’s releasing a Betty White stamp.
Betty White has rightfully been remembered fondly for many aspects of her legendary career ever since she died at the age of 99 on New Year’s Eve, just weeks shy of her 100th birthday.
The San Antonio Humane Society and the Animal Defense League of Texas have seen spikes in donations connected to the #BettyWhiteChallenge. The challenge, which was born out of social media shortly after White’s death on Dec. 31, urges people to donate $5 to an animal rescue organization for the Golden Girls star’s Jan. 17 birthday.
Monday will mark the 100th birthday of the legendary “Golden Girl” Betty White. But despite White’s passing, some in San Antonio are still planning on celebrating.
The late Betty White was a tireless advocate for animals for her entire life, from caring for homeless animals as a child to launching her own weekly TV show “The Pet Set” dedicated to her celebrity friends and their pets.
Actor Betty White, whose saucy, up-for-anything charm made her a TV mainstay for more than 60 years, would have turned 100 years old on Jan. 17.
Movie screenings of Betty White’s “100 Year Young” will still go on as planned despite her passing on Dec. 31, according to CNN.
