Highlands girls' basketball in prime position to make playoffs with district win

The Owls must defeat Seguin in their final game of the regular season to clinch a playoff spot

SAN ANTONIO – With a playoff push on everyone’s mind this time of year, the Highlands Owls are uniquely positioned to earn a postseason berth.

After a slow start against Lanier on Tuesday night, the Owls were able to brush off their mistakes to defeat the Voks 48-22.

With the victory, Highlands is now in fourth place in the District 27-5A standings, with Seguin right below them in fifth place.

When the two programs meet again on Feb. 2, that game will decide who goes to the playoffs and whose season will come to an end.
