Reagan alum Kellen Mond returns to San Antonio, excited to play for Brahmas

The San Antonio native will suit up for the Brahmas in 2025

SAN ANTONIO – Sometimes, you can go home again.

Former Reagan High School and Texas A&M quarterback Kellen Mond said a new opportunity with the San Antonio Brahmas is exactly what he was looking for.

“It’s an awesome feeling,” Mond told KSAT. “I feel like being able to come back into the city, play for the home team, and knowing what type of sports culture it is for the city, I can’t wait to get on the field. Get to play in the ‘Dome (Alamodome) that I used to play in high school, so it’s a great feeling.”

The first few years of Mond’s professional career have come with limited opportunities at the NFL level. Since 2021, he has changed jerseys four different times.

During the 2024 San Antonio Chamber of Commerce Gala on Friday night, the Brahmas staff brought out their 2023 XFL Conference trophy. Members of the Brahmas' Vaqueras took pictures with fans.

Mond said that part of his plans for 2025 is to have an even bigger trophy at the end of the year.

“I think the No. 1 thing is win championships. The No. 1 goal,” Mond said. “It makes everyone look better around you whenever you’re winning championships.”

The full schedule for the San Antonio Brahmas’ upcoming season has not yet been released. However, the opening weekend of the UFL season is set for the weekend of March 28, 2025.
