2 suspects arrested after 8-year-old girl injured in shooting near Seguin Little League field, police say

Seguin police determined Monday evening incident was not a threat to the public

SEGUIN, Texas – Two suspects are in custody after an 8-year-old girl was struck by a bullet inside her home in Seguin on Monday night.

Seguin police responded to the shooting at 9:15 p.m. near a Little League field in the 900 block of Pecan Street.

Police said the girl was inside her home when she was struck by a bullet fired outside.

She was driven to the Guadalupe Regional Medical Center but was later taken by Seguin EMS to University Hospital in San Antonio for treatment.

Police issued arrest warrants for two people in connection with the case. They were both in custody by Tuesday evening, police said.

Little League game

The gunshots caused the evacuation of everyone in attendance at the Little League field’s games.

Cindy Aguirre Herrera, news director of Seguin Radio KWED and Seguin Daily News, captured video that recorded the sound of the gunshots near the Seguin Little League Field.
