Stevens High School student arrested after off-campus stabbing; 2 students injured in incident, SAPD says

The two students sustained non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said

SAN ANTONIO – Two Stevens High School students were injured, and one person was taken into custody following a stabbing off campus on Monday afternoon.

A preliminary report from San Antonio police said officers were dispatched at approximately noon in the 9800 block of Potranco Road, not far from the campus.

The police report states that high school students were fighting in an open field, and one male student was stabbed in the back. The student was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

NISD initially told KSAT that one student sustained injuries and two individuals were detained. However, the SAPD report states that two students were injured and one person was arrested.

The second injured student suffered a superficial wound from a knife, the report stated. He was treated by the school nurse.

Police said they located a 16-year-old high school student nearby.

He was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

SAPD and NISD police are continuing to investigate the incident.
