1 dead, 4 injured after shooting outside North Side bar, police say

Two people taken to hospital in critical condition

SAN ANTONIO – A person died and four others were injured after a shooting outside a North Side bar early Monday morning, according to San Antonio police.

The incident happened in the 10200 block of Ironside Drive around 12:45 a.m.

According to police, a fight broke out between two groups on the bar’s patio.

A male suspect in the parking lot pulled out a gun and fired toward the group.

Three victims — a 23-year-old man, a 29-year-old man, and a 19-year-old female — were hit by the gunfire.

A second suspect who saw the shooting pulled out a gun and fired toward the first shooter. Both suspects struck one another, police said.

All five people were taken to the hospital.

The first shooter, a 34-year-old man, died at the hospital, police said. A second person remains in critical condition.

SAPD did not immediately indicate if anyone is expected to face charges.
