Woman shot multiple times during drive-by outside Southeast Side bar, police say

Suspect fled after firing over 10 shots; woman hospitalized in critical condition

SAN ANTONIO – A 26-year-old woman was hospitalized after a shooting outside of a Southeast Side bar Wednesday evening, according to San Antonio police.

The shooting happened in the 1800 block of Rigsby Avenue around 11:20 p.m.

According to a preliminary report from SAPD, the woman was outside of the bar when a male suspect drove by and began firing.

The suspect fired over 10 times. The woman was hit three to four times, police said.

Witnesses said the man fled in a vehicle and has not been located.

Two patrons of the bar drove the woman to the hospital, where she was stabilized, police said.

At last check, the woman was hospitalized in critical condition. Police believe the incident could be related to family violence.
