SAN ANTONIO – Firefighters are on the scene of a grass fire on the Southeast Side.

KSAT is livestreaming coverage of the grass fire and will offer context to Tuesday’s wildfire threat with meteorologists Justin Horne and Adam Caskey. KSAT’s coverage is streaming in the above video player within this article.

TransGuide captured some of the fire on its camera on Tuesday afternoon.

A City of San Antonio official confirmed to KSAT that the San Antonio Fire Department and Bexar County Emergency Services Districts (ESD) firefighters are on the scene of the fire.

Reinforcing the county’s order, city officials are asking residents in the area to evacuate due to the “rapidly spreading” grass fire.

According to Horne, western winds could gust anywhere between 45 and 50 miles per hour from approximately 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

KSAT reached out to the East Central Independent School District on Tuesday. The district said “no campuses are in immediate danger” and classes are continuing as normal.

If bus routes are affected by the fire, an ECISD official told KSAT that the district would notify parents directly if there are any changes.

The district also said employees were evacuated from an East Central ISD facility as a precaution.

No students are impacted by that facility’s evacuation, the district told KSAT.

A temporary shelter has been established for evacuees at the fellowship hall inside the Mission San Francisco De La Espada Catholic Church located at 10040 Espada Road.

This is a developing story. Check back for more updates.
