How scent cloths can help San Antonio babies treated in intensive care heal faster

KSAT spoke to a new mother staying at University Hospital about the cloths

SAN ANTONIO – Shortly after they enter the world, some newborns in San Antonio could be subject to a stay in a neonatal intensive care unit.

Nurses at University Health Women’s and Children’s Hospital have found a unique method that can calm newborns down, increase their chances of healing faster and perhaps shorten their hospital stays: scent cloths.

KSAT Photojournalist Adam Barraza spoke with a family who described the cloths’ potential benefits.
