Man arrested for DWI after rear-ending unoccupied police vehicle, SAPD says

No one was injured in the crash

SAN ANTONIO – A man has been arrested after rear-ending an unoccupied police vehicle, according to San Antonio police.

Officers were blocking a southbound lane just before 2 a.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of U.S. Highway 281 North for an unrelated crash when a 23-year-old man rear-ended a marked SAPD unit with his car, police said.

The crash happened while officers were outside their vehicles placing road flares. Police said the department vehicle was parked with emergency lights and directionals activated.

No one was injured in the crash.

The 23-year-old man was arrested for driving while intoxicated, police said.
