Backpacks were found in a rear compartment of the plane

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Police Department is investigating after drugs were found inside an aircraft at the San Antonio International Airport.

Maintenance repairs were being done on an aircraft yesterday when two suspicious backpacks were found in a rear compartment of the plane, according to a preliminary report from SAPD.

Further investigations found several sealed bags of narcotics inside the backpacks.

At this time, it is unknown how the backpacks got in the plane, what specific drugs were found in the bags and the airline the aircraft belonged to.
