Federal agents, San Antonio police investigate Southeast Side smuggling case, investigators say

HSI says DPS, SAPD are among the agencies assisting in the case

SAN ANTONIO – Multiple law enforcement agencies, including San Antonio police and federal agents, are investigating a human smuggling case.

Homeland Security Investigations led the effort at a home Friday in the 100 block of Alhaven Avenue, an HSI spokesperson confirmed to KSAT.

HSI said the San Antonio Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety were among the agencies who assisted federal agents.

SAPD said its officers responded and assisted at the home with “perimeter traffic control” at HSI’s request during the execution of a search warrant.

DPS released a non-specific statement to KSAT, which stated that troopers were not making any arrests but simply assisting federal agents "by providing law enforcement services related to illegal immigration operations across the state."

At this time, it is unclear if federal agents have made any arrests.

This is a developing story. Check back for more updates.
