Teen shot in chest, face with shotgun during drive-by shooting on South Side, SAPD says

Teen was taken to hospital in stable condition

SAN ANTONIO – A 17-year-old boy injured in a drive-by shooting on the South Side was hit in the torso and chest with a round from a shotgun, according to San Antonio police.

The shooting happened in the 700 block of Logwood Avenue around 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

The victim and a second teenager were walking when a vehicle pulled up next to them, and someone fired a shotgun round from inside.

The victim was struck in the chest and face, police said.

The suspect, who police identified as a 16-year-old boy, drove away from the scene. Officers were unable to catch the vehicle, a preliminary report from SAPD said.

The 17-year-old was ten to the hospital in stable condition, police said.

Police said the person in the vehicle was a known suspect; however, they did not respond to an email asking for specifics about them.
