SAN ANTONIO – Two Basketball Hall of Famers sent their well wishes to the seven San Antonio police officers injured in the Stone Oak shooting through social media.
SAPD Chief William McManus posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Friday of Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley wishing the officers well in their recoveries.

In the video, O’Neal, who attended Cole High School, starts his message toward SAPD officer Dean Rosetta.
O’Neal tells Rosetta, who has four years of service, that he loves him and he appreciates him.
“When you get out of the hospital, do that rehab,” O’Neal said. ”Take your time, kiss your family, and brother, I’m sorry this is happening to you, but I’m glad you’re OK."
Barkley also shared his well wishes to the injured SAPD officers. He said he knows they have the “toughest job in the world.”
“Thinking about you, praying for you, bless you and all your families,” Barkley said.

SAPD officers were called for a suicide in progress call in the 18700 block of Stone Oak Parkway on Wednesday.

McManus told reporters during a press conference around 10 p.m. Wednesday that four officers were shot while responding to the call.
In an update at 2 a.m. on SAPD’s Facebook page, McManus said that number jumped to seven. The officers were transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
An SAPD spokesman said Friday afternoon that all but one of the officers has been released.
SAPD identified the following officers who were shot by Brandon Poulos, 46, a Navy veteran who was out on bond at the time of the shooting.

- SAPD Officer Kyle Rainey, 5 years of service
- SAPD Officer Dean Rosetta, 4 years of service
- SAPD Officer Jacob Barcena, 7 years of service
- SAPD Officer Ryan O’Hara, 3 years of service
- SAPD Officer William Perez, 5 years of service
- SAPD Officer Jorge Ramos, 4 years of service
A report released Friday by the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office states that Poulos died from multiple gunshot wounds. His death was ruled a homicide.
