San Antonio Police Department Chief William McManus said Wednesday that officers responded to a suicide in progress call just before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Sonterra Heights Apartments in the 18000 block of Stone Oak Parkway.

McManus initially said Poulos shot four officers.

In a post to SAPD’s Facebook page just before 2 a.m. Thursday, McManus said the number of injured officers rose to seven, and Poulos was found dead in the apartment.

All seven officers, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, were also identified.

The officers are:

  • SAPD Officer Jesus Hilario-Marquez, 5 years of service
  • SAPD Officer Kyle Rainey, 5 years of service
  • SAPD Officer Dean Rosetta, 4 years of service
  • SAPD Officer Jacob Barcena, 7 years of service
  • SAPD Officer Ryan O’Hara, 3 years of service
  • SAPD Officer William Perez, 5 years of service
  • SAPD Officer Jorge Ramos, 4 years of service

After Poulos' death was ruled a homicide, KSAT asked SAPD multiple questions regarding his death and challenges officers may have faced on Wednesday night.

In response, an SAPD spokesperson said the department did not have any additional information to release Friday other than the injured officers' identities.
