San Antonio woman dies at 110, leaves behind legacy at Kelly Field

SAN ANTONIO – Ethel Carroll, one of the oldest San Antonians, has died at 110.

Carroll worked at Kelly Field for 26 years, where she began as a clerk typist and later worked in manufacturing.

She also had a certificate stating her involvement in creating a cost-efficient screw used on military planes.

In 2020, KSAT celebrated Carroll’s 106th birthday.

In the midst of a pandemic, several community members stopped by Carroll’s home to wish her a happy birthday.

Carroll’s funeral services will be held on Thursday at the Holy Redeemer Church located at 1819 Nevada Street.
