🍝 Things to do this weekend in San Antonio: Winter Restaurant Weeks, Kerrville Renaissance Festival, Mardi Gras Fest

Hello! Now that the weekend has arrived, it’s time to announce what’s happening in Alamo City.

DreamWeek, the 16-day event, continues to have several events happening over the weekend, the MLK March being one of them. If you plan to attend the march, check out our story for a guide to everything you need to know ahead of Monday’s March.

Here’s a look at what’s going on around in the Alamo City:

Happening over the weekend:

  • DREAMWEEK SUMMIT: The annual city-wide summit will continue until Jan. 26. People can expect to have symposiums, panel discussions, debates, film screenings, concerts and art exhibits at more than 100 locations throughout the city. Click here to check out some events to look forward to.
  • KERRVILLE RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL: The festival returns to the Hill Country for its ninth year this weekend. The Kerrville Renaissance Festival will take place between Jan. 18-19. The celebration will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at River Star Arts and Events Park, located at 3785 TX-27 in Kerrville. Click here for more information.
  • MARDI GRAS FESTIVAL: Six Flags Fiesta Texas will bring its 9th-annual Mardi Gras Festival through selected dates starting Jan. 18 through March 16. Attendees can enjoy from a parade to delicious Mardi Gras-themed food. More information can be found online.
  • SAN ANTONIO PHILHARMONIC: Enjoy an evening with a concert that will feature two exciting premieres: “Pulse” by Brian Raphael Nabors and “Umoja” by Valerie Coleman. The concert will performed on Jan. 17 and Jan. 18. Click here for tickets and additional details.
  • “SCHOOL OF ROCK” MUSICAL: The Charline McCombs Empire Theatre will host the musical comedy “School of Rock” from Jan. 17-19. Tickets are available online.
  • WINTER RESTAURANT WEEKS: The Culinaria biannual event returns from Jan. 18 until Feb. 1. Click here for a list of participating restaurants serving up three-course menus for brunch, lunch and dinner.

Friday, Jan. 17

  • SAN ANTONIO SPURS: The NBA team will face the Memphis Grizzlies at 8:30 p.m. at the Frost Bank Center. Tickets are available online.

Saturday, Jan. 18

  • MARKET DAYS: Visit the Pearl for Farmers Market every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to shop for local produce and meat. The Pearl is located at 303 Pearl Pkwy.

Sunday, Jan. 19

  • FREE YOGA SESSION: The Good Kind will host a free yoga session from 10-11 a.m. every Sunday.
