SAN ANTONIO (UPDATE on 1/8/2025): The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office identified a man shot and killed inside a drainage ditch opening on the North Side of San Antonio.

Marco Antonio Corea, 46, died from multiple gunshot wounds, the ME’s office stated. His death was ruled a homicide.

ORIGINAL STORY: A homeless man was discovered shot in the head inside a draining ditch opening on the North Side, according to San Antonio police.

The man’s friend found his body in the 1200 block of West Hildebrand and alerted authorities early Monday morning.

An SAPD sergeant noted that shell casings were found at the scene, indicating that the shooting likely occurred at that location.

Details about the victim, including his age, remain unknown. There is currently no information about a suspect.

The Homicide Unit is investigating the case as a murder.
