The shooting happened on Oct. 6, 2024, at the Parkhaus Apartments in the 7900 block of Jones Maltsberger Road, San Antonio police said.

The 25-year-old victim argued with his girlfriend, which prompted her to make plans to move out of the apartment, the affidavit stated.

The SAPD detective assigned to this case wrote that they believe the victim in the shooting is also a member of Tren de Aragua.

The 25-year-old’s girlfriend brought another man, described as “older” in the affidavit, to the apartment to help her gather items.

However, the victim told the “older” man to unload his girlfriend’s belongings because she was not moving out, the SAPD detective wrote in the affidavit.

Court records stated that the “older” man would not return the items unless the victim’s girlfriend told him to do so. He eventually left the apartment after the victim threatened him, the affidavit stated.

The affidavit said that the “older” man returned to the apartment with a group of people, which included Chirinos. They knocked on the door, and the victim answered.

The victim was confronted about disrespecting the “older” man earlier, the SAPD detective wrote in the affidavit. Chirinos ultimately shot the 25-year-old three times in the body and once in the head, according to the arrest warrant.

The affidavit stated the victim was taken to a local hospital and survived after extensive treatment.

Chirinos remains in the Bexar County Adult Detention Center with bonds totaling $200,000, according to county jail records.
