Rowe, 18, was booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center on Saturday.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by KSAT, Rowe — whose last reported address is 1 Haven for Hope Way — confessed to killing Robert Ibarra on Thursday to a bunkmate at Haven for Hope.

The bunkmate told SAPD that Rowe woke him up earlier in the week to tell him what he had done.

Rowe went into further detail with the bunkmate. Rowe said that he used a “big rock” to hit Ibarra repeatedly and that hitting him “felt good,” the affidavit stated.

Rowe also told his Haven for Hope bunkmate that Ibarra’s body was under a bridge near the intersection of West Martin Street and North San Jacinto Street, according to the arrest warrant.

The affidavit stated that the bunkmate told police who work at Haven for Hope what Rowe told him.

The SAPD detective assigned to this case wrote that he learned a pair of jeans covered in blood was found inside Rowe’s Haven for Hope locker.

Jail records indicate that Rowe has been charged with murder. A Bexar County judge set Rowe’s bond at $250,000 early Saturday morning.

In an earlier Facebook post on Dec. 27, SAPD identified Rowe as the suspect in connection with the murder of Ibarra.

Ibarra, 49, died from blunt force injuries and manual strangulation, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.

His body was found Tuesday morning along the Alazan Creek Trail under the San Jacinto Street bridge, SAPD said.
