SAN ANTONIO – A 48-year-old man, who San Antonio police identified as the suspect in a road-rage incident on the South Side, has been identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
According to the Medical Examiner, Rogelio Llanas died from cranial and cerebral injuries.
Llanas suffered those injuries following a rollover crash that stemmed from a road-rage incident on Sunday.
Before the incident, police say Llanas and another group were seen arguing at the Poteet Flea Market.
They would eventually leave, but the tension between them would carry to the road as Llanas began bumping into the other group with his vehicle, police said.
Despite several attempts from the other group to switch lanes, Llanas attempted a PIT (Precision Immobilization Technique) maneuver, causing the vehicles to become stuck together and roll over on the Southeast Loop 410 access road just before Roosevelt Avenue.
After police arrived, they found Llanas, a 38-year-old man and his two children, ages 9 and 14, with injuries. Both cars totaled.
Both groups would be treated by EMS and transported for their injuries.
Llanas, who was transported with life-threatening injuries, would die at the hospital, police said.
The conditions of the man and children were unknown.
