SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Police Department is searching for a suspect responsible for shooting a woman early Sunday morning.

Officers were dispatched to the scene just after 4 a.m. in the 3100 block of Mission Road.

When they arrived, SAPD said two women were found with apparent injuries. First responders determined the woman shot by the suspect suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital.

According to SAPD’s initial investigation, the suspect and the shooting victim were in an altercation before the suspect drew their weapon and fired toward her.

Authorities said the shooting suspect fled the scene.

It is unclear how many times the suspect fired their weapon or how many times the woman was shot.

San Antonio police said the second woman at the scene was grazed in the shooting, but she did not require any additional treatment.

SAPD said its investigation is ongoing.
