Driver hits, kills woman crossing Historic Old Highway 90, SAPD says

Police: Driver stayed at scene, not facing charges

SAN ANTONIO – A woman was killed after she was hit by a driver on the far West Side, according to San Antonio police.

The incident happened on Historic Old Highway 90 between Westfield and Arvil Avenue just before 6:30 a.m. Friday.

The woman was crossing Historic Old Highway 90 when she was struck by a driver, according to SAPD.

A preliminary report from police said the woman was crossing in an area where people were “not allowed to cross.”

Police said the woman was declared dead at the scene by the San Antonio Fire Department.

The victim is believed to be in her 40s. An identification is pending from the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.

About three blocks of Historic Old Highway 90 were closed for several hours while traffic investigators worked.

The driver stayed at the scene and is not facing any charges, police said.
