Man shoots son, tells friend to hide gun after initially telling police he didn’t know what happened, SAPD says

Victim taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following shooting in the 100 block of Prosperity Drive

SAN ANTONIO – A 62-year-old man was arrested in connection with a shooting that left his son wounded Tuesday morning.

San Antonio police responded to a call for a shooting at 10 a.m. in the 100 block of Prosperity Drive on the West Side.

According to a preliminary report, the caller told 911 that someone had shot his son and he didn’t know who shot him or where it happened.

When officers arrived, they found a 40-year-old man in the driveway with an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Based on the information gathered, it was determined that the two men got into an argument when the father shot his son, the report said.

The father then told a female fried, 38, to hide the gun, the report said.

The father was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The woman was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence.

Police have not identified the suspects.

The investigation remains ongoing.
