Man's pants fall off during robbery in NE Houston

Incident occurred March 12 at K&K Food Store

HOUSTON – After a wardrobe malfunction revealed the wrong end of a robber to a convenience store surveillance camera, police are hoping someone will be able to identify him so authorities can bring him to justice, and perhaps bring him a belt as well.

"His britches didn't seem like they wanted to cooperate and stand up properly," Houston Police Department Detective Greg Shelton said.

The robbery, at K&K Food Store at 8302 Sultan Drive in Northeast Houston, happened March 12.

But Shelton believes the man, and his armed accomplice, have committed other robberies since the incident.

A third man, identified by police as a "person of interest," Tyrie Dickerson, 18, was the lookout, Shelton said.

While Dickerson has not been charged in the crime, neither has anyone else.

One of the robbers appears more competent in the surveillance video. He rushed the 21-year-old clerk and demanded he empty the register, before pointing him to the cigarettes.

As the man passes the booty through the clerk window, the second robber struggles to collect the cash, dropping the money, his glasses and his trousers, trying to wrangle it.

Nobody was injured in the robbery.

Police believe the men live in the area of Sulton and N. Green River drives in Northeast Houston.

If you have information about their identities, call Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS. Crime Stoppers promises anonymity and offers rewards of up to $5000 for a tip that leads to a conviction.
