Uvalde interim mayor acknowledges law enforcement failures in Robb Elementary shooting response

Uvalde interim Mayor Everardo Zamora read a statement at a city meeting Tuesday night acknowledging the failures of law enforcement during the Robb Elementary shooting on May 24, 2022, according to the Uvalde Leader-News. The statement read in part, "The Uvalde Police Department policies were outdated and the department lacked the proper training and equipment to protect our community. That is changing." Zamora went on to say the new police chief, Homer Delgado, continues to review department personnel, procedures and training.
