An attorney representing multiple families of victims in the Uvalde school massacre asked a state district judge in Austin this week to force the Texas Department of Public to release records from the shooting.

While Uvalde County Commissioner, Lt. Mariano Pargas was a no-show at Wednesday’s meeting, another top ranking law enforcement official drew attention. Sheriff Ruben Nolasco was pressed for answers by reporters.
