SAPD: Teen in custody, charged with aggravated assault after attacking mother with box cutter
SAN ANTONIO โ A 17-year-old teen is in custody and charged with aggravated assault after San Antonio police say he barricaded himself from officers after attacking his mother with a box cutter. The teen was taken into custody without incident on Sunday, officials said. After arriving on scene, police said they found the 17-year-old had attacked his mother with a box cutter after an argument. The mother was cut by the box cutter in the shoulder and she was checked over by EMS but was not taken to a hospital, according to officials. Police said the mother had escaped safely with her other children from the teen following the incident.
San Antonio woman proudly talks up motherโs role in ending school segregation
โWhen she was in high school, she had to walk more than a mile from her house to the public school bus, that would take her to the city of Wilmington,โ she said. โFrom there, sheโd walk another five miles.โBreaux said there was only one high school for minorities in the northern part of the state โ Howard High School. Belton had asked her daughter to attend a nearby all white school, but after that request was denied, they joined a state lawsuit, Belton v. Gebhart. SAN ANTONIO โ Stephon Tatum says he misses his motherโs smile, their conversations and her love. The partial remains of his 55-year old mother, Connie Tatum, were found on July 28, 2020, in the 1500 block of Losoya Drive in south Bexar County. โYou only have one mother, and you want someone to help you,โ Stephon Tatum said. The Bexar County Sheriffโs Office has not said how Connie Tatum died, but the agency is investigating the case as a homicide. Stephon Tatum says he has not had a funeral for his mother because her body has not yet been released.

San Antonio police said Izaiah Riojas, 20, was hit with a bullet after a group was playing with a gun and it went off. โI get a call at midnight that my son was shot and I was like what son because I have three boys,โ Castro said. Why did everyone run?โSadly, Izaiah Riojas died at the scene and police said some suspects ran off, while some stayed for questioning. โReal hard.โCastro said out of all of her boys, Izaiah Riojas was the goofy one.

After the governor allowed businesses to gradually reopen in May and June, infections in nursing homes and assisted living facilities soared. At the end of July, the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services started sending devices to nursing homes that can perform antigen tests on-the-spot within minutes; 372 have been allocated so far at Texas more than 1,200 nursing homes. But the new requirement to test all staff weekly could be a Catch-22 for nursing homes: those with no active case arent prioritized to receive those testing devices. Holiday tradition gives presents to San Antonioโs homeless community
SAN ANTONIO โ The mother of a man who has been missing since November 2015 is continuing a holiday tradition she created in honor of her son. The tradition means giving presents to the homeless in the San Antonio community. Since then, sheโs held Green Christmas for the Homeless as a way to raise awareness about those who have gone forgotten. It is also a way to encourage loved ones to keep searching, no matter what. They also enjoyed food, drinks, music and a prayer vigil followed by a balloon release honoring missing loved ones.
