He unsuccessfully sued Palm Beach County because jetliners taking off from the nearby international airport flew over the mansion. Palm Beach is one of Florida's most exclusive towns, with a median home price of over a million dollars.

On Tuesday, she made her fourth and final holiday visit as first lady to Children's National Hospital. The hospital tweaked the holiday program to safely accommodate the visit during the pandemic, which has claimed more than 300,000 lives in the United States. In past years, Mrs. Trump read to a big crowd of patients and their families, hospital staffers and singers and dancers. During her time as first lady, Mrs. Trump has raised awareness about the harmful effects of bullying.

She also sat with groups of children at tables as they made Christmas cards, and later gave out bags printed with the “Be Best” logo.

Weeks before her family turns the White House over to President-elect Joe Biden, Melania Trump announced that a new tennis pavilion on the south grounds is ready for action. The first lady's office said Monday that the pavilion's design was inspired by the architectural style of the White House, especially the East and West Wings. A colonnade, parapet wall and fanlight windows tie the new building to the look and feel of the White House. The White House did not disclose the cost. Completion of the tennis pavilion follows the first lady's redesign of the White House Rose Garden earlier this year.
