San Antonio mother catches thieves stealing toys from daughterโs grave
SAN ANTONIO โ A San Antonio mother is fighting back after she caught two people stealing toys from her daughterโs grave on surveillance video. I said, โMy daughter canโt even rest peacefully because they are taking her belongings.โโThe first camera Kennedy put up was vandalized. To me, all of that stuff is valuable to me because I buy it from my heart for my daughter.โKennedy has filed a police report with San Antonio police. She said she wants the men caught, and she wants better security for the sake of the many loved ones buried at the cemetery. Defense bill in danger over Confederate-named military bases
Republicans are vowing they will not send the broader bill to Trump if it includes language requiring bases named after Confederate officers to be renamed. โIt's Senate language that we want to agree to," said House Armed Services Committee Chairman Adam Smith, D-Wash. โSo there shouldn't be controversy here." โLook, the defense bill is really important," Smith said, expressing hope that Republicans would relent. Both the House and Senate defense measures passed by veto-proof margins but GOP leaders want to avoid the chances of a veto coming to pass. The Associated Press erroneously reported that failure to pass the legislation could hold up a pay raise for the military.
