The Battle of Flowers announced a new partnership with the San Antonio ISD Foundation to launch a $50,000 program that will allow local students to explore Texas history firsthand.

One lucky winner (and three of their guests) will get to participate in the historic flower parade on Friday, April 28. The group will get decked out in robes, crowns, and a king’s ransom of Fiesta bling!

Battle of Flowers, one of the most famous flower parades in the country, is returning to San Antonio this April and Fiesta officials have released the parade route information so you can plan your visit.

It takes hundreds of hours and crepe paper to make the flowers on board the Battle of Flowers floats. Meet the head flower maker, Rose García, who will be celebrated with her own float this year.

The Battle of Flowers and Fiesta Flambeau parades have long been part of Fiesta tradition.

The KSAT Porch Parade Party airs at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 25. You can watch all the fun in the video player above, on KSAT 12 or the KSAT Plus app.

The safe, virtual event is a city-wide decorating competition for homes, schools and businesses and runs from April 23 to May 24. A total of 7 winners will be chosen.
