Isabel Lara is a fellow of the Emma Bowen Foundation. During the summer of 2023, she interned at KSAT12 and returned as a newsroom intern this summer.
She was born in San Antonio and raised in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, until she was 10 years old. Then, she returned to San Antonio and is currently studying at the University of the Incarnate Word in an accelerated bachelor's to master's (ABM) program in communication arts with a focus on multimedia journalism.
Isabel produces Spanish segments that air once a month on the university’s student-run television station, UIWtv. In her first year, she won a Texas Intercollegiate Press Association Award in Spanish Multimedia Feature Reporting for "Festival del Día de Muertos."
Isabel has a strong interest in feature stories and creating social media content.
