SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio Spurs rookie Stephon Castle will have the chance to showcase his athletic ability during NBA All-Star Weekend.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Castle has committed to participating in the Slam Dunk Contest.

The last time a Spurs player competed in the Slam Dunk Contest was in 1988, when Greg “Cadilac” Anderson squared off against Michael Jordan and Dominique Wilkins.

Throughout the 2024-25 NBA season, Castle has thrown down some memorable dunks.

A notable slam came against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Oct. 7. Castle soared for a poster finish over OKC’s Alex Ducas.

CBS Sports reported that Castle’s 25 dunks this season are the most by any point guard in the NBA. His leaping ability has already made him an exciting finisher.

The 6-foot, 6-inch guard has averaged 11.6 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game this season.

NBA All-Star Weekend is scheduled for Feb. 14-16 in San Francisco, California. The Slam Dunk Contest will take place on Feb. 15.
