Coach Prime, Colorado Buffaloes arrive in downtown San Antonio ahead of Valero Alamo Bowl

The top-25 kick-off between Colorado and BYU is set for Dec. 28 at 6:30 p.m.

SAN ANTONIO – The Buffaloes’ arrival downtown on Monday night was met with excitement as the community eagerly anticipates the matchup between the two Big 12 programs.

However, the big question remains: What do the Buffaloes know about the place they’ll call home for the next week?

“I’m so excited,” said Colorado junior safety Ben Finneseth. “My brother lives in San Antonio, so I’m excited to come here and see what his life is like. This is only my third time in Texas, so I’m super excited.”

“As far as coming into the hotel, that was pretty awesome,” said Colorado junior running back Charlie Offerdahl on being greeted by a Mariachi band.

In terms of preparation, the Buffs are pulling out all the stops.

Coach Prime has confirmed that all players, including those bound for the NFL, are expected to compete in the bowl game.

The incentive is an insurance policy that Sanders and Colorado’s Athletic Director Rick George worked out for players in the case of any injuries to underscore the universities’ commitment to both performance and player welfare.

He also shared insights into their intense practice sessions, highlighting the team’s dedication and readiness.

“The young men know what we’re here for,” said Sanders. “We had an influx of adrenaline and passion when the high schoolers came and that made the old school guys say ‘Ok, I gotta show these guys who I am’. I think a fight broke out that I’m not proud of — but I am.”

Sanders also called on San Antonio residents for restaurant recommendations and, in a fun twist, is offering tickets to the game in return.

The top-25 kick-off between Colorado and BYU is set for Dec. 28 at 6:30 p.m., and the game will be live on KSAT 12.
