Bexar County sees 5.8% turnout in early voting period of May 3, 2025 election

Polls will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on Election Day, Saturday, May 3

Nearly 75,000 Bexar County residents voted early in the May 3 election, according to the Bexar County elections office.

Between Tuesday, April 22, and Tuesday, April 29, voters could cast their ballots at 46 different locations.

During those eight days, 74,092 out of 1,258,413 registered voters in Bexar County made their way to the polls — a 5.8% turnout.

The last day of early voting had the biggest turnout with 20,631 ballots cast.

In the 2023 mayoral election, 106,938 out of 1,054,178 voters cast a ballot during the early voting period, representing a 10% turnout.

Those who weren’t able to vote early still have Election Day on Saturday, May 3, when nearly 250 polling centers will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The big items on the ballot are the mayoral race and city council seats, but even for those who don’t live in city limits, Bexar County residents need to consider races in other municipalities and bonds in local school districts. Click here to view the sample ballot in Bexar County.

Tuesday, April 29

According to the Bexar County Elections Department, 20,631 people cast a ballot on the last day of early voting, April 29.
