BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said its deputies arrested a man and discovered approximately $500,000 worth of drugs on Thursday at an East Side home.
Sheriff Javier Salazar confirmed the bust and arrest of an undocumented immigrant at a home in the 1500 block of Gorman Street, which is located approximately one mile east of the Frost Bank Center.
The unidentified suspect, who Salazar said is in his 40s or 50s, will be booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center on at least a possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver charge.
Because the suspect is an undocumented immigrant, Salazar said federal authorities have been notified of his arrest and an immigration detainer may be placed on him.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies found approximately 20 combined kilograms of meth (15 kilograms) and heroin (five kilograms) inside the home. Some of the drugs were packaged in “messy, irregular-type shapes,” Salazar said.
Some meth and heroin, according to Salazar, were found in a concrete mixer, but the sheriff could not confirm if the mixer was used to mix some of the drugs.
The estimated street value of the drugs is approximately $500,000, the sheriff said.
Salazar said deputies also found between seven and nine “high-capacity” weapons in the home’s attic. One of the weapons, according to the sheriff’s office, is considered a stolen firearm.
It is unclear if the suspect is part of a gang or if he will face any weapons-related charges.
