2 injured in West Side shooting, 2 detained, San Antonio police say

Victims transported to hospital with gunshot wounds, according to SAFD

SAN ANTONIO – Two men were hospitalized after being shot on the West Side, according to the San Antonio Fire Department.

The San Antonio Police Department and SAFD responded to the shooting just before 4 p.m. Wednesday in the 8200 block of Marbach Road.

Police reported that officers arrived quickly on the scene and found two men with gunshot wounds.

According to SAPD, the incident began when the victims and suspects met and started fighting.

The altercation escalated, leading one suspect to brandish a weapon and shoot the victims.

One man was shot in the leg, and the other was shot in the stomach, police said. The victims were transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

The suspects fled on foot, police said. Officers in the area located both suspects about a quarter mile away from the shooting location.

One person witnessed the shooting, and a man and a woman were detained for further questioning, police said.

The investigation remains active, police said.
