Man charged with intoxication manslaughter after wrong-way crash on I-10, SAPD says

Female driver pronounced dead at the scene

SAN ANTONIO – A man was charged with intoxication manslaughter following a wrong-way crash on I-10 that resulted in the death of a female driver, according to San Antonio police.

The crash happened at 5:48 a.m. Sunday in the 5500 block of I-10.

San Antonio police reported that Jersson Rios, 34, was driving an SUV westbound in the eastbound lanes when he collided with the female driver’s vehicle.

The female driver was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS, police said.

Rios was found to be driving while intoxicated and was taken to a local hospital, police said.

Once released, he will be booked for intoxication manslaughter, according to SAPD.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
