Fox played his first game for the team on Wednesday night

SAN ANTONIO – A new face for the San Antonio Spurs has fans on their feet.

Point guard De’Aaron Fox debuted for the team Wednesday night against the Atlanta Hawks.

San Antonio acquired Fox, along with reserve guard Jordan McLaughlin, from the Sacramento Kings on Sunday.

Fox now wears jersey No. 4 for the San Antonio Spurs.

On Wednesday night at the Rock at La Cantera and the Roo Pub, fans said they hope Fox helps bring the team back to the playoffs.

John Adams said he’s been a fan of the team since the 90s. He said a new player means a new opportunity.

“We need to get somewhere,” Adams said. “We need to get somewhere. Popovich, management, training and get some more players, spend some more money.”

Fans have been sharing their excitement across social media.
