The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has announced nearly 8,700 people have been arrested by ICE Enforcement Operations since President Donald Trump took office.
In a video posted on “X” by Homeland Security, arrests have happened in 19 cities across the United States, including here in Texas.

Of the 8,768 arrests that have been made, 5,693 people have been deported.
The video explains that the arrests and deportations are coming from violent offenders. Some of the charges of people arrested and deported include aggravated assault, drug offenses, crimes against children, homicide and human trafficking.
The video lists the names, dates, charges and locations on some of the arrests that have taken place over the past week.
The video ended with this statement:
“In his first days in office, President Trump has delivered on his promise to the American people to begin mass deportations of violent criminals within our borders.”
During his campaign trail, President Trump made mass deportations one of his biggest talking points.
