Fire significantly damages house in neighborhood north of downtown, SAFD says

Fire happened in the 300 block of East Huisache Avenue

SAN ANTONIO – A house in a neighborhood north of downtown was significantly damaged after a fire, according to the San Antonio Fire Department.

The fire started around 9:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of East Huisache Avenue.

Officials found one home fully engulfed in flames upon arrival, SAFD Public Information Officer Joe Arrington told KSAT.

The house is likely a total loss because of the damage from the flames, Arrington said. Another house’s attic was also significantly damaged.

The fire was contained to the two homes, according to SAFD. No injuries were reported.

Officials said the flames took around 45 minutes to extinguish.

The houses were close to each other, which made battling the flames difficult, officials said
