Here’s a list of Valentine’s Day events around San Antonio

There are many ways you can celebrate all things love this year

SAN ANTONIO – The day of love is coming up fast, and there are many places to celebrate in and around the Alamo city.

Here is a list of ideas for you and a special someone to do for Valentine’s Day:

Free ideas

Single and Ready to Mingle: The Blue Bonnet Palace has a free Valentine’s Day party on Feb. 14 for those looking for romance.

The Selma dance hall offers a night for singles from 8 to 11:30 p.m.

You can register on their website or get tickets on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Free Marriages: The Bexar County Courthouse is marrying couples for free on Feb. 14 at 100 Dolorosa Street.

Main Plaza grounds will have a block party before the ceremonies begin at 12:01 a.m. According to their website, the first 50 couples will receive a rose from the Last Straw Florist flower shop.

Haunted Hike: The San Antonio River Authority and Curious Twins Paranormal tour guides are teaming up for a spooky night of fun.

According to the event website, guests will learn about haunted romances from 7 to 8 p.m. on Feb. 14 as they walk down the Museum Reach side of the San Antonio River.

Registration is required for the event. While it is free, a payment method is required to ensure a space is made.

The website said if the person does not cancel the reservation in advance and does not show up for the hike, a $10.00 fee will be donated to the SA River Authority.

Fun ideas

Galentine’s Loteria Night: Sammy Snacks at the 7200 block of Blanco Road is hosting a Galentine’s Loteria night on Feb. 13.

According to a post on their social media, the evening starts at 6:30 p.m. and will include games, snacks, free wine and prizes.

Tickets are around $8, and guests who invite a friend (men are welcome) can receive a free Loteria card.

Starlight Movies: The San Antonio Botanical Gardens will hold an outdoor movie special on Feb. 14. According to their website, for $22 per person, you can watch “50 First Dates” starring Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler.

Concessions and beverages will be available.

Those who register beforehand can build a picnic basket with charcuterie, sandwiches and salads, have their own reserved seat and a bottle of red, white or sparkling wine.

Romance & Ruin: If you’re looking for an artistic escape, the San Antonio Museum of Art is offering themed tours on Feb. 14 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

SAMA’s website says the Romance tour includes artwork and swoon-worthy stories, while the Ruin tour tells tales of love gone wrong.

Wine will be provided, and guests can create a wooden sacred heart as a keepsake. According to their website, tickets are $35, but for members, it’s $30.

Adult Nite: The DoSeum is hosting an Adult Nite from 7 to 9:30 p.m. on Valentine’s Day, according to their website.

The event, taking place in the 2800 block of Broadway, will feature drinks, eats, music, and access to interactive exhibits.

Tickets are $45 per person and can be purchased on their website. It is for guests 21 and up only.

Special treats

Wild at Heart: From cute Kiss-O-Grams to a four-course meal, the San Antonio Zoo has all kinds of experiences for Feb. 14.

The zoo is offering a Naughty By Nature Zoo Tour to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

The statement said this is for adults 18 years and older, consisting of a cart ride through the zoo with a guide telling guests the secrets of wildlife romance, including courtship, copulation and more.

Tickets start at $79 and come with a cuddly animal plush to take home.

According to the statement, event dates are as follows:

  • Feb. 10, 11 and 12 at 6 p.m.
  • Feb. 13 at 6 and 7:15 p.m.
  • Feb. 14 at 6, 7:15 and 8:15 p.m.
  • Feb. 15 at 6 and 7:15 p.m.

Valentine’s Day Dinner Pairing: For $80 per person, Ranger Creek Brewing and Distilling is offering dinner and drinks, along with live music and a Schnitzel Plate.

Tickets are required for their seatings at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on the 4800 block of Whirlwind Drive on Feb. 14.

Hotel Valencia Riverwalk: Located on East Houston Street, this hotel is offering a three-course Valentine’s Day dinner on Feb. 14 and 15.

A statement from Hotel Valencia said two pricing options are available depending on whether you want wine pairings.

A reservation is required and can be made online or by calling (210) 230-8454. Hotel Valencia offers complimentary valet parking to all diners.
